American Cancer Society Heroes of the Year Luncheon 2025

American Cancer Society’s 2025 Heroes of the Year Luncheon was held on Wednesday, October 15th in New York City. Olivia Tournay Flatto, PhD, President of The Pershing Square Foundation, was recognized as a 2025 honoree for her leadership and commitment to advancing cancer research. The Pershing Square Foundation Co-Trustee Bill Ackman introduced Olivia to receive her award. The event brought together over 340 philanthropic leaders and raised more than $600,000 to fund life-saving cancer initiatives. Pershing Square Philanthropies was the Title Sponsor.
For nearly 30 years, the Heroes of the Year Luncheon has convened New York’s philanthropic leaders who are invested in their communities’ health and the future of scientific breakthroughs and cancer research and has celebrated individuals who exemplify excellence across professional, philanthropic, and personal spheres. Since its inception, the luncheon has raised more than $6.5 million for patient services and research. The American Cancer Society, the largest non-governmental funder of cancer research in the U.S., continues to drive progress through advocacy, patient support, and groundbreaking scientific research.
